Watch This Underrated Indie Rom Com If You Love Jack Quaid

In a perfect world, our streaming service overlords would never remove our favorite movies and shows.

Alas, our world is far from perfect. Some movies seem to arrive and depart streaming services on the daily. Which rom com fits that description? None other than the underrated indie rom com, Plus One (2019) starring Jack Quaid and Maya Erskine. Though this gem has been available on many streaming services in the past, it never stays for long. For now, it’s on Disney+ and Hulu, but you might want to watch this one while you can, because there’s no telling where it might end up and when.

What is Plus One about?

Best friends Ben and Alice find themselves at yet another wedding reception. Going to these events as single people is really a bummer–especially when you’re sat at the table with all the other cast-offs on the guest list. They decide that, since they have so many more weddings they have to go to this season, they might as well go as each others platonic plus ones. What could go wrong? It’s not like constantly being surrounded by love could affect the friendship or anything, right?

If these two cuties look familiar, you’ve probably seen some of their other projects as well. Maya Erskine is best known for her role creating and acting in the hilarious Hulu comedy PEN15. Self-professed nepo baby Jack Quaid is best known for his roles in Amazon’s The Boys and the reboot of Scream (2022).

Like I said up top, this movie is not long for this world–at least if you get all your entertainment from Netflix. Although you may not have heard of it before you clicked on this article, it should for sure be on your watchlist while it’s still on Disney+ and Hulu.
