Oh, Hi!

How To Ruin Your First Weekend Away Together Without Really Trying

'Oh, Hi!,' starring Molly Gordon and Logan Lerman, coming to theaters this summer, July 25, 2025!

The new Sony Pictures Classics film Oh, Hi! explores what happens when a romantic getaway turns into an epic disaster and how it could totally happen to you.

Your first weekend away is going swimmingly and then one wrong move and you could be coming home single.

Imagine dancing together surrounded by a gorgeous sunset? It’s the dream. But what if all your memory-making plans derail? That’s what happens in the new romantic comedy, Oh, Hi! Iris (Molly Gordon) and Isaac (Logan Lerman) are on their first trip together and it feels like a fairytale, every moment more perfect than the last. But when Iris mentions exclusivity, it starts off a domino effect of mishaps and bad choices that turn the gorgeous vacay into a relationship ruiner. Or does it? While you wait for Oh, Hi! to hit theaters on July 25, 2025, check out these major “don’ts” for your first weekend away together.

Mistake: Thinking That It’ll Be The Perfect Romantic Getaway.

You could be the perfect couple, something out of a classic 1990s romantic comedy, and things will still go wrong. Don’t let the dancing in the moonlight and romantic breakfasts in bed lull you into a false sense of security. Even if the pitfalls of your weekend away aren’t your own fault–which they definitely could be–there are always outside forces that could be working against you.

Mistake: Having Big Talks When You Don’t Have An Escape Plan.

In Oh, Hi!, Iris casually mentions their relationship and Isaac is surprised to hear that she thinks they’re exclusive. Uh-oh. If you haven’t defined the relationship yet, you should either do so before your weekend away or wait until after you get back. There’s nothing like a difficult conversation when you can’t easily get back to your own apartment to weather the emotional storm. Avoid talks of red flags and dealbreakers at all costs.

Mistake: Doing Something You Can’t Take Back.

You have to admit: When you’re outside the comfort zone of your own home, you may not have the best judgement. You’ll do things you wouldn’t have done if you were still stuck in your everyday routine of work, commute, dinner, repeat. Just make sure that what you’re doing is the cute relationship stuff you can recover from, like surprising your lover with a candlelit dinner. If you let your wacky side take over, you may do something you can’t take back.

Or you could watch a movie that shows you exactly what could happen if the weekend away goes all wrong. Don’t miss Oh, Hi!, coming to theaters this summer, July 25, 2025!
