Perhaps the weather is oppressively hot and you just want to sit under the air conditioning while you watch something fun. Here are some great shows and movies that come out or have big anniversaries today.

The Gilded Age season 3 premiers tonight at 9PM Eastern

Carrie Coon in The Gilded Age.

If you love some historical drama set in 1883 New York City–and you’re a fan of Carrie Coon–you’ve probably already seen the first two seasons of The Gilded Age. If so, get ready for the season three premier tonight on HBO and Max at 9PM Eastern. And, if you haven’t seen the show yet, you can always catch up with the older episodes today instead.

This is a big day for Disney movie anniversaries

Brave celebrates its 13th anniversary today.

If I had an in with Disney, I would ask them the significance of this day. Because not only is it “Good to Go” day for Disney World annual pass holders (meaning they can get in without a reservation), it’s also a day when so many iconic Disney movies came out. Here are some you might want to watch today on Disney+ to celebrate their anniversaries:

This is a great day to catch Karate Kid: Legends while it’s still in theaters

Karate Kid: Legends stars literal legends Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio.

Speaking of film anniversaries, the original The Karate Kid came out 41 years ago today in 1984. That’s great timing since the newest movie in the franchise is currently in theaters. That gives you two options today: You can watch the original on Hulu or head out to the theater to see Jackie Chan, Ben Wang, and Ralph Macchio in Karate Kid: Legends, which currently has a 92% Popcornmeter audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
