3 Underrated Paranormal Romance Movies (And Where To Watch Them)

You may have forgotten about these paranormal romances, but I certainly haven't.

By

Sometimes you just want to watch people fall in love with witches or vampires or werewolves or ghosts.

I can’t blame you. Ordinary people are so…ordinary. If I could fall in love with a 1,000-year-old trickster demon right now, I would. Alas, we’ll all just have to settle for the next best thing: Watching paranormal romance movies and living vicariously through the trials and tribulations of the main characters. But rather than suggesting the tried-and-true movies that you’ve already seen over and over again (Hi, Twilight!), here are a few hidden gems you might not have heard of. And, best of all, I’ll tell you exactly where to watch them.

Blood and Chocolate (2007)

MGM

Vivian meets a handsome graphic novelist, Aiden, but she knows this isn’t a safe relationship to have. Why? Because she’s a werewolf and her pack leader is particularly jealous and ruthless, making it unsafe for Aiden. Still, who can stay away from a hot guy who actually treats you with respect? Watch Blood and Chocolate on MGM+ and Tubi.

Beautiful Creatures (2013)

Warner Bros. Pictures

The new kid in town is falling for the pretty, awkward girl, but what he doesn’t realize is that she’s actually from a family of witches and she’s about to age into her dark powers. Their love is doomed–or is it? Some people hated this at the time because it didn’t really follow the book it was based on, but if you never read it, you may enjoy what it’s become. Watch Beautiful Creatures on Amazon Video.

Before I Fall (2017)

Open Road Films

In yet another time loop scenario, Samantha keeps living the same day–February 12th, Cupid’s Day–over and over. In the process of figuring out why she’s stuck in this loop, she grows her relationships with Rob and Kent and her friendships with her friends. This is a truly forgotten gem. Watch Before I Fall on Prime Video and Tubi.
