Louise Miller is every awkward teen girl who doesn’t know how to talk to her crush. If only we could find out we’re a witch when we turn 16 like she does. She uses her newfound power to make her dreams come true (plus the hilarious rap battle dreams of her best friend.) If you haven’t seen this, it’s time to rectify that colossal mistake. Stardust (2007)
Tristan goes in search of a fallen star for the woman he loves, only to find out that the star is actually a woman being hunted by a trio of witches. Come for the adorable plot with Robert De Niro as Captain Shakespeare and stay for Tristan’s She’s All That-style glow-up. Beautiful Creatures (2013)
Lena comes from a long line of witches and her family is more than a little bit overbearing. When they learn she’s fallen in love with a regular boy, they’ll have nothing to do with it. It’s bad witches vs. good witches, all in the name of true love. If you’re looking for a faithful adaptation of the book, you won’t find it here, but it’s still a fun watch regardless. Hocus Pocus (1993)
Witches aren’t always the good guys. Here, the enigmatic Sanderson Sisters are out to suck the souls of all the children in Salem, all because a virginal teen boy was stupid enough to light the black flame candle. While this family movie is mostly about the kids vs. witches dynamic, the cute little romance between Max and Allison is adorable. Watch Hocus Pocus on Disney+.
Sleepy Hollow (1999)
The little town of Sleepy Hollow is being haunted by a headless horseman, and it’s all thanks to witchy magic. Johnny Depp’s Ichabod Crane is tasked with solving the deaths of prominent men in town, but can’t help falling in love with Christina Ricci’s Katrina along the way. Can you blame him? Howl’s Moving Castle (2004)
When she’s cursed by a witch into aging into her 90-year-old self, Sophie stumbles onto the moving castle of a wizard named Howl.
