When Solène takes her daughter to Coachella to see her favorite boy band, August Moon, a chance encounter in a private trailer launches the 40-year-old single mom into a whirlwind romance with Hayes Campbell, one of the rockstars from the band. If that sounds more like a Wattpad 1D fanfiction than a new Amazon Prime movie, you wouldn’t be the first to suspect that of the origins of this novel adaptation. Alas, The Idea of You is a new straight-to-streaming romantic comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine. (And it’s great.)

Of course, you might be wondering as you watch their two-hour lovefest…”What if I fell in love with my favorite pop star?” You wouldn’t be the only one. If you want to end next year’s Coachella coupled-up, you may want to follow Anne Hathaway’s lead in The Idea of You. Here’s how to seduce a rockstar:

1. Be in the right place at the right time.

If you want to bag a rockstar, it isn’t going to be in the meet and greet line or sliding into their DMs. Solène thinks she’s headed to the VIP restrooms at Coachella when she actually stumbles into Hayes’ personal trailer. Get creative and random, just like our girl Solène. (But not at the Coachella trailers, because you know there’s going to be an uptick of women trying to do just that next year.)

2. Show him you’re “not like other girls.”

Solène is 40, flirty and thriving. She doesn’t scream at Hayes like a fangirl. She treats him like he’s any other person–probably because she doesn’t even realize who he is at first. Famous people are attracted to people who don’t act like fans.

3. Don’t get seduced by the fame.

Does she want to spend time with him? Sure. But not for the trips around the world or the free clothes or the fancy parties. She just wants him. Too many people hang on to celebrities not because they like who they are, but because they desire the life they could give them. Don’t be like that–be like Solène.

4. Show off those shoulders, girl.

Is Anne Hathaway in her 40s? Definitely. (Although, honestly, how?!) Despite being the mom of a teen, she still has the assets, showing off her sexy shoulders as soon as she has a moment alone with Hayes. Know what you’ve got and show it. This is seduction after all.

5. Play hard to get.

Are you excited to seduce your favorite rockstar? Sure, but they have plenty of people throwing themselves at them at all times. Be different. Be like Solène, who doesn’t just jump him the first chance she gets.

6. See him, and I mean really see him.

Hayes isn’t the picture perfect rockstar she’s learned about on talk shows. He’s a real person with real trauma and real feelings. The more you treat someone like a real, unique person, the more you can seduce them–especially if they’re never treated that way in everyday life.

7. Be authentic.

All of the above worked because it was authentic to Solène. She wasn’t faking it just to get Hayes in the sack. It wasn’t a game or a ploy. When you’re your true, authentic self, how could anyone resist?
