For one week this past June, ABSOLUT transformed a block in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (N6 between Kent and Wythe) into a blank canvas. In the week that followed, an impressive roster of emerging artists, including: Jonah Freeman, Justin Lowe, Ara Dymond, KATSU, Aurora Halal, OLEK, Andrew Kuo, Valerie Hegarty and Ryan McNamara made the block an interactive outdoor exhibition. We called it the Open Canvas NYC and we’re looking to do it again in San Francisco. From August 24-Sept 1, ABSOLUT will transform Divisadero St. between Hayes and Grove and fans (21+) across the country can submit their artwork and a 150 description of how they would transform a dedicated space for a chance to win a trip to SF and have their art come to life in the next Open Canvas! The contest is completely media neutral, so all art forms are accepted.
