5 Telltale Signs You’ve Actually Found Your Person

In your lifetime you will meet thousands of people who come in and out of your life. Some connections are not meant to last forever and we can appreciate them for what they teach us before moving on. On the other hand, sometimes you are lucky enough to find a strong connection that is meant to last. In honor of Valentine’s Day coming up, here are five top signs that you’ve found your forever person.

1. They Support Your Goals

This is extremely important for any relationship that you want to see make it for the long haul. Over time we will all change in some way or another. Your goals and aspirations may change with time also. A healthy relationship consists of two people who support each other’s dreams and help each other reach their milestones. Your significant other should be your biggest cheerleader when you are working towards your goals. Mutual support will help both of you to grow not only as individuals but also as a couple.

2. They Truly Value Time Spent With You

Your significant other should genuinely want to spend time with you. You don’t find time for each other, you make time for each other. If they make it a priority to spend time with you, it shows a lot about how much they value the relationship. Of course, it is healthy to do things alone at times too. Having a high value of time together will make it even better when you are reunited after spending time apart from each other.

3. They Show You They Love You Instead of Just Saying It

Words can be beautiful, but at the end of the day, they are just words. The best way to tell if someone loves you authentically is to pay attention to their actions. It doesn’t matter if it’s picking up extra chores around the house when you aren’t feeling well, checking the oil in your car before you leave for work or maybe just making you laugh when they know you’ve had an awful day. There are millions of ways to say “I love you” without actually having to say it and honestly, those are the most genuine forms of showing love.

4. You Are Able To Work Through Problems Quickly

Someone who truly loves you will not want to waste time being resentful or petty after an argument. If you have found someone who is willing to hear you out and work through your problems as a team, then you’ve found someone worth fighting for. Of course, sometimes we need to let the initial anger settle before trying to talk it out. Someone who values the relationship will make sure to patch things up quickly and not let you go hours or days without being back on the same page.

5. You Feel That Your Life Is Better With Them Than It Would Be Without Them

At the end of the day, take an honest look at your life with this person. Do they bring happiness, love, and value that makes your life more positive and fulfilling? If so, it sounds like that is a person worth keeping around. All the effort and work you pour into the relationship is most definitely worth it when you make each other happy in ways that are only possible together.

If this sounds like your partner, you’ve definitely found a keeper. Make sure to continue putting value into the relationship and growing together every day, not just on Valentine’s Day. While it can easily be said that relationships are a lot of work, I believe it’s worth everything if you’re in it with the right person.
