It’s Time To Stop Apologizing For Taking Care Of Yourself

By

Up-and-coming author of This is How it Feels to Be Seen, Sophie Beatrice, encourages us that self-care is non-negotiable, and it’s time to stop apologizing for it.

Rest is not lazy. Saying no is not a lack of generosity. Setting boundaries is not selfish. Prioritizing yourself is not egoistic.

Declining an invitation is not rude. Having different opinions is not disrespectful. Expressing your emotions is not being dramatic. Speaking up for yourself is not confrontational.

Finding solitude is not antisocial. Feeling sad is not bad or wrong. Admitting mistakes is not a failure. Asking for help is not weak.

Letting go of toxic relationships is not disloyal. Celebrating your achievements is not bragging. Changing your mind is not unreliable.

It’s perfectly okay to do what feels right for you. You are allowed to find your inner peace.

Create space for yourself to cultivate inner harmony and balance. Draw a boundary between your inner self and the external environment in which you move, and begin to focus on your within—on everything that is in your control.

Take care of your body, your mind, and your heart. Learn to cultivate peace and contentment deep inside. Accept, savor the present, and do exactly what you need to establish your inner peace.
