I Think I Loved You Because I Found Bits Of Myself In You

I think I loved you because you made me want to be a better person.

I think I loved you because I found bits of myself in you. I loved you because I found something that I didn’t even know I was searching for in the first place.

I loved you because for the very first time in such a long time I felt like I can finally be completely and utterly myself. I loved you because I didn’t have to say everything I wanted out loud in order for you to understand me, but our language was beyond verbal conversations.

I loved you because every place felt like home with you and the world was suddenly a less bitter place because of you. I loved you because when I am with you, all the scary thoughts in my head suddenly just shush.

I loved you because every ordinary thing with you just felt not so ordinary anymore — the coffee tasted better, the music sounded more beautiful and even the weather felt nicer.

I think I loved you because you made me want to be a better person. I loved you because you gave things more meaning and everything made more sense when you were around. I think I loved you because you made me love myself more.

I loved you because every day with you felt like an adventure that I would never want for it to end. I loved you because even when we are not together, I can still feel your love. I loved you because even just the thought of you could make me smile.

So, when you ask me why do you love me? I can’t just lay down for you a set of traits that I love about you or just tell you certain moments that made me fall in love with you. It’s just not that simple; not when it comes to loving you.
