There were times in my life where I wished someone would have told me this out loud. That someone would have told me that it’s okay to be scared, that it’s okay to have fears; it’s more than okay, actually. It’s normal! But what’s not okay is if you let these fears of yours stop you from pursuing anything you want in life.
There’s always going to be something that scares you, but the thing is, you have to face that fear and do what you strive for anyways.
Do it even though you’re scared. Do it with your heart pounding and your voice trembling. Do it even though your hands are sweating and shaking.
Because that is what makes you strong. Strength isn’t about the lack of fear or having nothing that scares you; strength is doing something even though it scares the hell out of you. Strength is looking your fears right in the eye and doing what you aspire to do anyhow.
But if you let your fears stop you, if you surrender to that feeling of scariness, you are not going to grow. You are going to spend a lifetime thinking of the regrets and what ifs.
But going all the way despite the fear that fills you is where magic happens, where life changes and you start to flourish.
This is one of the bravest acts a person can do. It gives you such a feeling of self-pride and self-trust that knowing that you are strong enough to stand up for yourself and your dreams.
You will be faced with fears regularly, but that won’t stop you. That is what makes you start believing in yourself and what makes you start trusting yourself, and you owe it to yourself, because you and your dreams are worth it.
