4 TV Shows To Stream This Weekend That Give Serious Summer Vibes

Summer is just around the corner, so you might as well catch the vibes.

I love summer. I love the food, the weather, all of the things to do, and just how easily my seasonal depression slips away when the sun is out consistently.

Everything I do is summer coded, and that includes what movies and TV shows I watch. If you’re like me and want to capture the essence of summer at all points in your day, even if the season hasn’t technically started yet, here are four TV shows that are the epitome of summer to me.

Broad City

Comedy Central

Broad City is quite possibly the funniest show I have ever watched. If you are a 20 or 30-something woman living in a city and you haven’t watched Broad City, please do yourself the favor now. Abbi and Ilana are just two best friends trying to navigate life in Brooklyn. Between dating, work, friendships, and all of the mishaps that can happen to a city girl in one day, this show has everything and most of the time, everything happens when it’s sunny and the perfect, sweaty weather outside. Broad City is streaming on Hulu and Paramount+.

Betty

HBO

Betty is absolutely a summer show and you should go check it out right now. Betty follows a group of women trying to navigate the male-dominated world of skateboarding in New York City. Betty is the perfect relaxed, laid-back show that puts street fashion on display and highlights women in unconventional scenes. Betty is streaming on HBO Max.

The O.C.

Fox

Alright, alright, I know, but The O.C. is a perfect summer show. The O.C. follows the lives of teens and their families in Orange County, California, so it is filled with sunshine, waves, and tons of drama. It’s more than just high school drama and there is truly a story line for everyone, but The O.C. is summer. You can’t change my mind. The O.C. is streaming on Hulu and HBO Max.

Outer Banks

Netflix

Outer Banks follows the story of teens on the North Carolina coast as they look for buried treasure. That sounds cheesy but it’s a really solid who-dun-it type of mystery that will have you craving the Outer Banks, North Carolina surf and sand. Plus, you might even want to start digging for buried treasure. Outer Banks is streaming on Netflix.
