The 5 Best Horror TV Shows And Where To Stream Them

Horror television is better than ever.

By

It’s 2025 and I fear (in the best way) that we are hitting upon another horror renaissance; a horrorssance if you will.

This year will be monumental for horror movies with the announcement of M3GAN 2.0, 28 Years Later, The Monkey, and Until Dawn. There have already been quite a few releases this year, but as a true horror lover all year round, I am always looking for the best horror TV and movies to watch in between releases at the theaters. With that, I am also looking for horror shows that sometimes fall through the cracks into the deep, abysmal depths of my streaming services, never to see the light of day. However, it is my goal to shine a light on these shows like the Black Seadevil Anglerfish and bring them to the surface for you all to enjoy. So, without further ado, here are 5 horror TV shows that you should check out.

Penny Dreadful

Showtime

Penny Dreadful will always be my #1, so I’m a little biased when I recommend this show. There is a spinoff called Penny Dreadful: City of Angels but we are not going to talk about that one. Much to my dismay, the show has run its course, but it is so hauntingly beautiful and creepy in the best ways. With Eva Green at the helm, Penny Dreadful brings the characters of Frankenstein and Dorian Gray to life and where they started in Victorian London. After a wealthy man’s daughter goes missing, he enlists the help of clairvoyants, wolves, doctors, and all of your favorite fantasy creatures to find her. Penny Dreadful is streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime.

From

MGM+

From is a science fiction horror that doesn’t get enough validation for how mysterious and thrilling it is. This show is about a middle USA city that never lets anyone leave and everyone is banding together to figure out why they’re there and how they get out. From is constantly forcing its viewers to ask questions and wonder what is going on at all times. There is a good amount of gore for the more extreme horror lovers and From tends to stray away from the traditional character that lacks common sense in a horror movie or show. It’s streaming on MGM+

Brand New Cherry Flavor

Netflix

Brand New Cherry Flavor is so unique and unfortunately, only a limited series so you’ll get through it pretty quickly. However, I can promise that after watching it, you’ll never be able to find anything like it. This show follows a filmmaker who is making her way to Hollywood to find her big break and make her movie. Once she’s there, she falls into a deep, dark rabbit hole of magic, drugs, and sex that totally alters her world. It is the most trippy scary show I have ever seen. Channel Zero

Syfy

I love a good anthology series and Channel Zero is a great horror anthology to sink your teeth into. If you’re chronically online the way that I am, you’ll likely remember Creepypastas and Channel Zero takes its scares in that exact form. The show is about a new scary story each season and they are always keeping you on the edge of your seat. Channel Zero shies away from cheap jump scares and gore and focuses on being truly terrifying and creepy to keep you all entertained. Channel Zero is streaming on AMC+.

Slasher

Netflix

Slasher is another anthology horror series where each season is a new horrifying slasher tale designed to instill fear everywhere you turn. The series aims directly at the slasher genre, so each masked killer leaves a slew of victims and carnage behind them. Slasher has a strong 80s/90s horror film feel to it and is perfect for those nights when you just want to turn your brain off and be scared. Where Slasher lacks in depth, it makes up for nostalgia from growing up and watching horror movies in your PJs while sitting on the floor in front of the television set. Slasher is streaming on Netflix and AMC+
