Surprise! Peacock actually has some great original shows.

By

There’s a plethora of streaming services and if you’re like me, you have about five or six subscriptions and have the hardest time deciding what to watch.

One streaming service that I tend to overlook is Peacock, but it has some hidden gems and great original shows and movies to check out. If you’re looking for something different and you, too, feel like you neglect Peacock, let this be your guide to your next watch.

Teacup

Peacock

Teacup premiered in early October of 2024 and it’s one of the best-ranked horror TV shows that I’ve checked out. It’s unique, unsettling, genre-bending, and worth to watch. Teacup is about a Georgia farm and the strange occurrences happening there. Animals are scared and restless, a kid disappears and reappears acting incredibly strange, and a man in a gas mask shows up to spray paint blue lines on their property. No one knows what’s happening, and a mysterious force is making everyone panic. Episode 2 has quite a grisly ending and the action and horror don’t stop there. The whole first season is streaming now.

The Day Of The Jackal

Peacock

The Day Of The Jackal is a high-paced action show starring Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch. It’s a cat and mouse game between an elite assassin and a British intelligence officer as the assassin attempts to take on his riskiest case. This case could allow him to disappear forever, but the British intelligence officer is hot on his tail as they run and chase across Europe. The series is intense and will keep you on the edge of your seat as you admire the cinematic style.

Dr. Death

Peacock

Dr. Death is based on the podcast of the same name and is an anthology series with each season following a new doctor. However, these are not good doctors. These are doctors that are harmful and murderous to their patients and people in their personal lives. What’s great about the series is that it does, in a way, shed a light on the educational and medical failures within an institution. The series also highlights the individuals who bring the crooked doctors to justice and the bravery that it took to do so.

Based On A True Story

Peacock

Based On A True Story is a cute and quirky crime thriller comedy that will be deeply relatable in a few different ways. On the verge of a midlife crisis, Ava (Kaley Cuoco) and Nathan (Chris Messina) are struggling. They don’t have enough money and they’re pregnant and they can’t stop fighting. Because Ava has an obsession with true crime, she starts looking for it everywhere, and eventually figures out that their friend Matt (Tom Bateman) is a serial killer. In order to solve their money and family problems, the couple cons Matt into creating a podcast with them about the “work” that he does. But what could go wrong when you work with a serial killer?!
