7 New TV Shows To Look Forward To This Fall

We may be deep into summer and enjoying our chill poolside days, but fall is right around the corner. In about a month or two, we will be cozying up in sweatshirts, drinking apple cider, and preparing for Halloween festivities. As fall approaches, we can also get excited about new shows coming out to binge-watch while we light an apple cinnamon candle and sip on some hot apple cider. Here’s a list of 7 TV shows to watch out for coming in September and October and how to watch them.

September 5: The Perfect Couple, Season 1

Coming to Netflix on September 5, The Perfect Couple is a new drama series starring Nicole Kidman, Eve Hewson, Liev, Schreiber, and Dakota Fanning. The Perfect Couple is based on a book by Elin Hilderbrand and has the cutest marketing campaign involving a wedding invitation that you can find here. The Perfect Couple is about Amelia Sacks (Hewson) who is getting married to one of Nantucket’s wealthiest bachelors. However, the perfect wedding day is quickly ruined when a dead body washes ashore during the ceremony. Suddenly, the champagne and hors d’oeuvres don’t taste so dreamy and everyone becomes a suspect for murder.

September 13: How To Die Alone, Season 1

How To Die Alone is a new series coming to Hulu on September 13. How To Die Alone follows Mel (Natasha Rothwell), a broke airport employee living in New York who is going through the motions day in and day out. She’s never been in love and eventually, stops dreaming of a better life for herself altogether. That is, however, until she has a near brush with death and it opens her eyes to the possibilities all around her. Mel takes back her life and starts living on her own terms, and based on that description, I feel like many of us working a corporate 9-5 will deeply relate to.

September 15: Tulsa King, Season 2

Season 2 of Tulsa King is coming back to Paramount+ on September 15. The Sylvester Stallone hit show will bring him back as Dwight as he is growing his criminal empire. Along the way, Dwight is forced to violence to keep his family and friends safe while still growing his business. The Kansas City mob is one of his biggest opps this season, plus the addition of a local businessman who is threatening his success and safety. On top of all of that, he still has loose ends to tie up in New York.

 September 18: The Golden Bachelorette, Season 1

Following the success of The Golden Bachelor, The Golden Bachelorette is coming to ABC on September 18th. Just like its predecessor, The Golden Bachelorette follows a cast of senior citizens vying for the love of  Joan Vassos as she becomes the inaugural Golden Bachelorette. If you’ve watched The Golden Bachelor, you’ll recognize Vassos as she had a strong connection with Gerry Turner in The Golden Bachelor. Unfortunately, she had to leave the show early because her daughter was having health complications. Vassos got another shot at love and is ready to see what The Golden Bachelorette has in store for her.

October 3: Heartstopper, Season 3

Heartstopper has been a fan favorite since it was released on Netflix. The adorable coming-of-age LBGTQ story follows Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) as they discover their close friendship in school might be a little deeper than just friends. The two embark on their journey of love and deal with heartbreak, loss, arguments, and the stress of coming out. Season 3 shows Nick and Charlie’s relationship growing deeper with the soft subtle sounds of Billie Eilish’s “Birds Of A Feather” playing in the background. As the couple grows older, they start to face pressures from attending college, mental health, and sexual health. While the show will still be ethereal, sparkly, and full of love, it sounds like there will be some infusion of real-life struggles that all couples face.

October 11: Disclaimer, Season 1

Coming to Apple TV+ on October 11, Disclaimer is a psychological thriller starring Cate Blanchett told in seven chapters. Blanchett stars as Catherine Ravenscroft, an acclaimed journalist who has built her entire career around revealing others’ transgressions and secrets. One day, a novel appears in her possession from an unknown author who writes her as the main character whose deepest and darkest secrets are being revealed. She must figure out who the author is before her transgressions destroy her life entirely.

October 21: NCIS: Origins, Season 1

CBS has a spin-off of NCIS coming on October 21 called NCIS: Origins. Origins will take place in the NCIS world as a prequel story, taking the viewers back to 1991 and the early days of the NCIS team. Austin Stowell will star as a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a special agent during his early days at the NCIS Camp Pendleton office. Kyle Schmid will be playing Mike Franks, Tyla Abercrombie as Mary Jo Sullivan, and Caleb Foote as Randy Randolf.
