If It's Real, You Won't Have To Force It

If It’s Real, You Won’t Have To Force It

If it’s real, you won’t have to force it. You won’t wake up every day feeling like you have to send that Good Morning text just so you could buy yourself a little more time until you make up your mind. Until you finally face yourself with the truth you’ve been dodging. That something about this connection feels off, it doesn’t feel right, it doesn’t feel natural.

If it’s real, you won’t have to wake up every morning feeling anxious about what the day will bring. What this person will do that will rub you the wrong way. You won’t be questioning their loyalty or their commitment. You won’t try to convince your friends that you’re in a good place or that you’re happy. You won’t lie to them or yourself.

If it’s real, you won’t have to remember how it felt like with other people and compare or you won’t feel like something is missing. The spark. The excitement. The conviction. It won’t feel like something you have to suppress your real feelings for or silence your own thoughts to make it work.

If it’s real, you won’t wonder every now and then if this is love, if this is the right person, if you’re appreciated, if you’re wanted, if you’re seen or heard or respected. You won’t wonder why it was easier with others or why this connection doesn’t feel like everything you’ve been wishing for. You won’t wonder if you’re settling. You would know more than anything that this is something worth fighting for or worth staying for. You would know that this doesn’t come around very often so you will do your best to protect it.

If it’s real, you will feel like it is. Everything will be aligned. Your thoughts and feelings will be in harmony. You and this person will see things eye to eye. You will see a future with them, not a dead end. You will feel love not frustration. You will be happy, not confused and it will feel like a blessing, not a curse.
