I’ll Always Be There For You

I’ll always be there for you. Even if we’ve been apart for years. Even if the world changed every little part of you. I’ll always find the person I once loved and the person you once were.

I’ll always be there for you. Even if we’re both married with kids. Even if you knock on my door at 5 am in the morning because you have nowhere to go, I’ll always welcome you in, I’ll always leave the door open for you.

I’ll always be there for you. I don’t care how many times you let me down or how many times you walked away. I’ll always forgive you and I’ll always forget the nights you made me suffer.

I’ll always be there for you because simply I’ll always want to. I’ll never stop wanting to help you or give you a shoulder to cry on. I’ll never stop opening my heart to you no matter how many times you tried to close it.

Maybe because you’re the only one who taught me how to love. You’re the only one who taught me how to give without expecting anything in return.

You’re the one who taught me that loving is giving. That loving is forgiving. That love is always being there for someone even if they’re no longer yours.

You’re the closest thing I had to unconditional love, you’re the one who showed me what my heart is capable of and what my love can do. Without you, I would have been lost, I wouldn’t have known what love is or what it feels like. Without you, I would’ve been under some false illusion that love sucks or that love doesn’t exist.

So how could I not be there for you when you need me, how could I not give you one of the simplest acts of love.

So this is my eternal vow to you. I’ll always be there when you need me. I’ll always be someone you can count on. I’ll always be the one you can lean on and the one you can trust.

And if you don’t know this by now, as long as you have me, you’ll never be alone.

As long as you have me, you’ll never feel unloved. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
