It’s Time To Let Go Of The Person Who Couldn’t Love You The Way You Needed

Love is unpredictable and complex. It consists of the good and the bad. It’s an emotion that varies from person to person, from relationship to relationship. Sometimes, we try to fix a relationship that doesn’t fulfill us anymore, either because we are terrified to be alone or because we think that the person we’re with is the one for us.

However, sometimes it will simply cause us more pain.

Sometimes a relationship is meant to fail. It happened because you were meant to learn something from it — you were meant to grow. Even if the love disappears, it doesn’t mean it wasn’t real. Loving someone never truly goes away, it simply diminishes and your heart makes space for more love.

I know you love them. I know you feel like they’re the one. But if they can’t love you the way you need to be loved, then let them go. It doesn’t mean your relationship wasn’t real, it simply means you deserve better. You deserve to feel like you’re everything for your lover. You have to feel the love coursing through your veins, and you have to feel it back.

Sometimes, it’s hard to end a relationship where everything is seemingly going well. However, just because something seems to be okay doesn’t mean that it is what you truly deserve. You have to learn how to let go of the things that no longer serve you. It’s okay to be selfish when the outcome is your happiness.

So it’s time to let go of the person who couldn’t love you the way you needed them to.

It’s okay to strive for happiness, pure love, and fulfillment. It’s okay to be selfish when it comes to your own life. No one else will fight for what you deserve, so you have to be the one.

Don’t settle for less than you deserve. Don’t settle for less than you need and want. Love should be overpowering and magical — if it no longer is, it’s time to let your partner go. It’s always for the best — yours and theirs. Sometimes it’s in both of your interests to let go.

So let go and be loved the way you need to be. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
