Read This If You Want To Fall In Love Again
Falling in love again will not be something you necessarily have a say in. But you do have to be open to it in order to find it again.
If you want to fall in love again, you need to understand that love will look different from the way you knew it before.
Love might be taller than you expected, with softer eyes you don’t recognize as something you could love at first. Love may be more boisterous than you remember, or more gentle and quiet than you could have ever imagined. You will need to learn that love’s new shape is a good thing. You need to try and not compare it to the love that left. You need to welcome it. You need to invite it to stay.
If you want to fall in love again, you need to understand that it will take time.
Falling in love again will not be something you necessarily have a say in. But you do have to be open to it in order to find it again. You will need to go on shitty dates and good ones. You will need to risk getting hurt again. You will probably need to get hurt again, too.
If you want to fall in love again, you need to accept your other love’s departure.
You will need to come to terms with the fact that sometimes beautiful things fall apart but that doesn’t make them any less important or real. After all, every song has an ending note. That doesn’t mean music isn’t worth listening to. Sometimes, a relationship runs its course and that’s okay.
If you want to fall in love again, you have to understand it’s going to be really, really, really hard and vulnerable and will sometimes feel more like breaking than coming together.
Eventually, though, the pieces fall into place. The bruising heals. The aching stops. Love comes back. And you’ll be glad you kept yourself open for it because it will feel like coming home.
