Here are five movies with wild plot twists.

1. Gone Girl

Gone Girl (2014), based on Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name, is a psychological thriller about a marriage gone wrong.

Writer Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) is suspect number one in the sudden disappearance of his wife Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike). Amy went missing on their fifth wedding anniversary. After she disappears, Nick faces a media circus surrounding Amy’s unknown whereabouts. Gone Girl is a movie full of twists and turns.

2. Remember Me

Remember Me (2010) is a romantic drama starring Robert Pattinson as Tyler Hawkins and Emilie de Ravin as Ally Craig.

Tyler and Ally are a new couple who have both faced their fair share of grief throughout their lives. Tyler lost his brother to suicide and now has a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Bronson). Ally’s mother was murdered in front of her in a subway mugging 10 years prior. As the couple’s relationship progresses and they help heal each other’s pain, Tyler’s secrets threaten their newfound happiness and love.

Remember Me did not receive great reviews from critics, particularly about the film’s insane twist of an ending, a plot twist that Rotten Tomatoes‘ critic Robbin Collin describes as “one of the most demented final twists ever.”

3. Atonement

Atonement (2007) is a war drama with one of the most heartbreaking plot twists ever.

Atonement tells the love story of  Cecilia Tallis (Keira Knightly) and Robbie Turner (James McAvoy), a couple who are torn apart due to a lie told by Cecilia’s jealous younger sister Briony (Saoirse Ronan). As a result, Robbie is imprisoned. However, hope returns for the lovers when they end up crossing paths during World War II.

Anyway, I’ll spare you the rest of the details, watch the movie (just be sure to have plenty of tissues).

4. The Sixth Sense

Containing one of the most iconic plot twists of all time, M. Night Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense (1999) stars Bruce Willis as child psychologist Malcom Crowe, who begins working with 9-year-old Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) who sees dead people.

5. Get Out

Get Out (2o17), written and directed by Jordan Peele, is a psychological horror film about the sinister realities of racism.

Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and his girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams) go to her parents’ estate for a weekend trip in Upstate New York. Upon their arrival, Chris notices how incredibly…friendly Rose’s parents Dean (Bradley Whitford) and Missy (Catherine Keener) are. Honestly, a little too friendly and accommodating. From there, Get Out provides countless twists and turns.
