Thank You For Your ‘Forever’ Kind of Friendship

You are the friend that has always been there for me, no matter what time I call, no matter how long it’s been since we’ve talked. You are the friend that cries with me as we scream the lyrics to our favorite songs on those late-night drives. You are the friend that supports all of my dreams and makes me feel capable of accomplishing them, even when the doubt creeps in.

You are the friend that has grown with me, stood by me through every break-up and every first date. Through graduations and family functions. Through every questionable haircut and identity crisis.

So, I just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you for making our friendship a priority so that we could grow up without growing apart. Thank you for making an effort to be part of my world, even if we were in different phases of our lives.

Thank you for understanding that we can still be best friends in the midst of busy schedules. Thank you for your low maintenance, incredible friendship that stays constant through every changing season.

Thank you for the countless years of advice. For the jokes when I most needed to hear them and for the shoulder to lean on after a bad day. Thank you for never being afraid to tell me the truth, even if it could possibly hurt my feelings. Thank you for being real with me always.

Thank you for being my empowering and amazing friend. I can’t imagine where I would be without your encouragement inspiring me to make brave choices with my life. Thank you for never letting me dwell on my failures and for challenging me to grow from them. Thank you for being my confidence boost and my reality check. My reassurance and my tough love.

You are the friend that has stayed through all the messy ups and downs. You are the friend who has never let time or distance make a difference in the bond that we share. And, you’re the friend that I know will be a part of my future. You’ll be the cool aunt to my kids. You’ll be the one my family vacations with. And, you’ll still be the one that I go on night drives with as we scream the lyrics to our favorite songs.

Because, not everything is forever, but our friendship is. Your friendship has been a source of comfort and growth through the years. You have always accepted me with open arms, and I know that I can be my authentic self around you no matter what.

You are the friend who always lifts me up and knows me better than I know myself. And, I can only hope that I have been that kind of friend for you over the years as well.

Thank you for being my partner in crime and my go-to for girls’ night. For always being game for a glass of wine and a vent session.

You, my dear friend, make life so much brighter. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
