I don’t know anyone who hasn’t, at one time or another, had to deal with the discomfort and awkwardness of arguing with a family member on social media, especially Facebook.
Sometimes it can just lead to a fight but when this guy’s conservative aunt posted that the U.S. is a Christian nation and that he needed “to go way back in American history” the guy had had enough.
It was time to break out all the facts (not the alternative ones).
So he suggests they read a bit of the Constitution together and even provides her with a PDF. Then he starts going through it.
And that’s when he located the establishment clause which says that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”
His aunt is yet to reply. And that is how you shut down an argument without a fight.
