An Uber driver recently shared his story of driving home a girl who was super drunk in his car. Not much of a story, really, I’m sure it happens all the time. He was a little irritated at first, getting ready to clean up her likely vomit, but then she opened up about her story.

We never know what other people are going through every day, all around us. Even when people might seem like “a mess” or annoying, they could be carrying something much heavier than we know. This is why — as hard as it is, and as imperfect as we are — we should try to assume good intent in all people and treat them the way we’d like to be treated.
