17. We had a few bombs go off around our school (to protest the allowing of the first black students to enter our school towards the end of Apartheid), one being at the head master´s house. His garage blew up and his teenage son, who was cutting class, was asleep in their caravan parked just outside. He came away without a scratch. Apparently a gardener found one of the devices and picked it up, which set it off and was killed.
This article in the NY times however said nobody was injured.
Edited to add that I just read some further articles on the incidence and most of them say that the bombs went off at 3am. This is not correct. I was there and remember hearing the bombs explode. We were rushed to the sports fields while the bomb squad came through school. We were then returned to class to continue our day. Many kids were hysterical as we were not allowed to call our parents. I remember staying at home there rest of the week. I also read a transcript of the amnesty proceedings where the person who planted the bomb said that they were supposed to explode at 3am, but didn´t. Strange times…
18. The senior prank last year was them plowing the parking lot but putting all of the snow against the doors, thus causing a 1hr delay to school.
19. Some kid poo’ed himself then tried to walk it off like it was nothing while bits of poo fell out the bottom of his trousers.
Not sure it was the best strategy…

20. Someone peed in the soap dispenser, so for the rest of my middle school years there were no more soap dispensers.
