23 Obese People Reveal The Struggles Only They Can Understand

8. That snap

My boxer briefs waistband is always rolling up.

9. Thinking back…

Peak weight: 430 lbs on a 5’11” guy. 5x shirts, 60″ waistband. *(Current Weight: 375lb and falling. But it wasn’t long ago that I was at peak weight, so I think I can still speak to these)

1. Wiping my ass. I have short arms to begin with. I haven’t been able to wipe while sitting for nearly a decade. I have to stand up, hike one leg up on the edge of the tub, do some inner-thigh stretches, pick my stomach up and shift it left out of the way, then stretch with all my might to reach my asshole. I have to go through this routine for every wipe.

2. Just hard to move. I’ve got an extra 250lb on my body that I have to carry with me everywhere. Every time I get in the car, getting out of the car, crawling on all fours to reach under a desk, getting back up, sitting up in bed, etc.. I don’t have the core strength to perform these tasks without the same exertion someone would use in the gym to do crunches with an extra 250lb in weight on them.

3. Everyone thinks I’m lazy. You don’t have to say it, I see it in your eyes. We’re fat, not stupid. Doesn’t matter if I work from sun up to sun down, I’m fat therefore I’m lazy and have no self control.

4. I have to order my clothes on the Internet. No store within 50 miles carries clothing that fits me.

5. I am constantly exhausted. Constantly It takes a lot of work to lift this body around.

6. I am constantly overheated. I have the equivalent of an Arctic coat on 24/7/365. I live where it’s hot and humid, so I am constantly sweating and overheated.

7. There are little things too, but those are the highlights. Kids, don’t grow up to be fat. Seriously, once you get this bad it takes a lot of work to get back to normal. Work hard to stay thin now before you get where I am.

I wish I could go back in a time machine and slap the doughnut out of younger me’s mouth.
