15. “The most beautiful suicide”

On May Day, just after leaving her fiancé, 23-year-old Evelyn McHale wrote a note. “He is much better off without me … I wouldn’t make a good wife for anybody.” She went to the observation platform of the Empire State Building. Then she jumped. In her desperate determination, she leaped clear of the setbacks and hit a United Nations limousine parked at the curb. Across the street photography student Robert Wiles heard an explosive crash. Just four minutes after Evelyn McHale’s death, Wiles got this picture of death’s violence and its composure. The serenity of McHale’s body amidst the crumpled wreckage it caused is astounding.

Goebbels, in a lovely, happy shot taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt (the same guy who shot the nurse and soldier kissing on V-day).
And Goebbels scowling at the Jewish photographer.
Alfred wrote: “Later I found him at the same table surrounded by aides and bodyguards. Goebbels seemed so small, while his bodyguards were huge. I walked up close and photographed Goebbels. It was horrible. He looked up at me with an expression full of hate. The result, however, was a much stronger photograph. There is no substitute for close personal contact and involvement with a subject, no matter how unpleasant it may be.”

In my opinion, this one.
It’s a guy and his friend taking a picture at the Grand Canyon. After the picture is taken they realise that there is someone standing beside them in some bushes looking at them. Really creepy!

For me, it was always this one. It’s from the alleged investigation of the Amityville house. The team of investigators said that the house was empty of children and none of them remember taking this picture. They claim it just showed up in the prints and resembled one of the children killed there years earlier.
20. This is his last photo

This photo (and the other ones like it) really bothered me. It’s the photo of Travis Alexander right before Jodi Arias murdered him. She showed up, they fooled around, hopped in the shower where she took a bunch of photos of him. She snapped this photo and then killed him right after. It’s unsettling to see someone’s last moment captured.
