We have been graced with another year filled with amazing adventures, achievements, challenges, and new beginnings once again. It tested our faith, strength, and patience most importantly during those circumstances when we felt like there was no way out of the knotty labyrinth of life. These unnerving trials that crossed our path honed us into becoming a fervent and resilient individual in the face of adversity.
Year after year, we keep setting goals and resolutions that oftentimes we fall short of following through. There are times when we constantly end up retreating to our comfort zone instead of pursuing the things we’ve been aspiring to do all our life merely because we succumb to fear and self-doubt easily. And what you feel is valid. Acknowledge your apprehensions but don’t ever let it define and get the best of you.
Find it in your heart to have patience with yourself and the determination to get back up most especially during those moments when life knocks you down repeatedly.
Pursue the things that frighten you the most, work towards the goals that you didn’t give a chance to come to fruition, and grab every opportunity that comes your way no matter how challenging it may be. Choose to live life on the edge and grow rather than settle for a mediocre life just because it is easy. Make a vow to yourself that you will make it your life’s mission to change, develop, and find your breakthrough. I did and it has made all the difference.
Through our setbacks and mistakes, some of us finally found the courage to pursue our passions and express ourselves through the art we create.
I was exhausted making unnecessary excuses as to why I couldn’t live my life doing what I love. So, I took a daring leap by leaving a stable and flourishing career in pursuit of a life-long dream that has a high risk of not even seeing the light of day – best decision I ever made. Instead of complaining about the things I lack and beating myself up by comparing my progress with others, I fought every day and worked hard to get myself to a point where I can say that I am genuinely happy. It’s true what they say, dreams won’t work unless you do.
Some of us may have lost a great deal of things we hold close to our heart this year, but it’s only because we deserve better than what we settle for. The unfortunate occurrences that happen to us is simply part of a greater plan that will bring us to a position that would make us better people for ourselves, our loved ones, and others.
One thing’s for certain is that we are beyond blessed despite whatever we’re going through in life.
There are so many things to be thankful for and sometimes we tend to overlook and take the most important ones for granted – family, friends, and simply being alive.
We are given the opportunity to experience another year of life and we shouldn’t waste every minute of it living with anger, resentments, and regrets in our heart. Instead of wasting time hoping for salvation, be the miracle you wish for and above all, to those who need it the most.
Forgive yourself for the times you fell short of being the greatest you could ever be and pardon those who did you wrong along the way. It’s only when we courageously face our own demons that we can be truly free and be at peace with ourselves.
May you seize opportunities, second chances, brighter days, love, and everything you’ve ever desired and more in the forthcoming year. It’s always never too late to start over and become the best version of yourself.
You are worthy of a life that you look forward to living every waking day. All you have to do is look within yourself and you’ll find the answers you’ve been looking for.
As the year comes to a close, let us look back with utter joy in our hearts and move forward with enthusiasm in our soul to another year filled with genuine happiness and endless possibilities.
