Robert Pattinson Reportedly Working On Emotional Album That Will Touch On His Painful ‘Twilight’-Era Split From Kristen Stewart

Robert Pattinson may be taking a break from Gotham to head for the studio instead. Several sources are reporting that the Batman and Twilight star has registered seven songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) indicating that a new musical release is in the works.
ASCAP documents list Pattinson as both the songwriter and performer on the tracks, with Marcus Foster, a longtime collaborator and friend of Pattinson, co-credited on all seven songs: “Bent Out That Midnight Day,” “Best Friend,” “Fascinate,” “Fell Off,” “Green Light,” “Waiting on Me,” and “Witness (You See Me).” The registrations, which were first spotted by fans on social media before being reported by several entertainment outlets, have left many speculating that Pattinson’s debut album or EP might just be on the way.
Entertainment reporter Chelsie Napiza writes that the filings are “an important expansion of a creative persona that has always included music but rarely dominated headlines.” Pattinson has long had musical aspirations he previously wrote and performed Never Think and Let Me Sign for the original Twilight soundtrack, and contributed music to movies like How to Be and High Life. Experts in music rights explain that while the ASCAP registrations do not mean a release is immediately forthcoming, they do indicate a significant step toward publication. The next move, should Pattinson decide to go there, would be a contract with a music publisher.
One thing is certain, if the songs are released, it will mark a bold new step for Pattinson into a new creative space. The actor has often described music as a “private passion,” but with seven songs on the table, this would be the most public Pattinson has yet been about his musical pursuits. Sources quoted by ShuterScoop describe the material as “emotional, raw, and very personal,” while the songs themselves touch on “moody rock, acoustic soul, and cinematic tones.” One insider claimed Pattinson is “throwing his whole heart into this record,” and that the material is “his most honest work yet.”
They were a bit more sly when addressing the idea of Stewart as muse for the material, with one insider cheekily telling the outlet that “Kristen Stewart will probably want to keep an eye on this. She may have a reason to be concerned because she’s the person he’s writing about.”
Pattinson’s life is very different these days. He is married to Suki Waterhouse, who he wed in 2022. The couple welcomed a daughter together in March 2024. Waterhouse, an actress and musician in her own right, has been known to encourage Pattinson’s music pursuits which has led many fans to hope that a duet might be on the table, at some point. There is no official release date, no teaser, and no confirmation from Pattinson or his team but with seven songs in the works and the internet already having a field day, it seems that Robert Pattinson’s next chapter might not be in theaters, but on the charts. And if the rumors are to be believed, a few people from his past might be in for a listen as well.
