Nearly 30 Years Later, Amy Bradley’s Disappearance Resurfaces With Three Major Leads Following Netflix Docuseries Spotlight
By Erin Whitten
It’s been nearly 30 years since Amy Lynn Bradley disappeared from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. However, thanks to a new Netflix docuseries, Amy Bradley Is Missing, fresh leads and new tips are coming to light, including three described as “very significant” and being worked on by investigators. Amy Bradley disappeared at age 23 during a family vacation in 1998. After a ship-wide search, she was never found. At the time, investigators believed she may have accidentally fallen or jumped overboard. The family, however, has long contested those findings, holding firm in their belief that Amy was kidnapped.

In the first new development, authorities are following up on a report of a female bar server allegedly heard screaming “Señorita kidnapped!” the night that Amy disappeared. The woman is said to have been silenced and escorted off the ship by another crew member. The Hollywood Reporter says the woman has since come forward and is cooperating with authorities. Sadly, according to Amy’s mother, she has yet to be located or interviewed.
The second, which has piqued the interest of authorities and fans of the docuseries, concerns a suspicious visitor to Amy’s missing-person website. An IP address showed activity on the site was coming from a boat in the water off the coast of Barbados. Holiday periods and special family events have caused an uptick in site traffic over the years, renewing the belief that it could be Amy herself, or those connected to her, monitoring the site. Around the same time, a sighting in Barbados is what led the FBI to one witness who agreed to an interview.
The third, and perhaps most emotional new lead, involves the possibility that Amy had a child while in captivity. Although hinted at in the docuseries, new evidence has been discovered that makes it more possible, and more possible that Amy is alive. The source believes the child is more than likely the result of Bradley being forced into sex work and not a signal that she had settled down to have a family.
For years, the Bradley family has long held a belief that Amy was trafficked after being kidnapped. The new development has reinvigorated their search, and they have new investigators in addition to the FBI on the ground in Curaçao and the surrounding areas. The Bradleys have been searching for answers for 27 years. Now, with the new leads, there’s new hope for them.
