Hold Onto Your Disney Knees – ‘Camp Rock 3’ Is Officially In Development

By

This is real. This is me. This is exactly where I wanted to be nearly 20 years after the first Camp Rock movie hit the small screen as an iconic Disney Channel Original movie. Camp Rock 3 has officially been confirmed today, and my inner child is singing. Today, Disney confirmed that the Jonas Brothers are returning to their iconic roles as Connect 3, Demi Lovato is back on board as an executive producer, and production is already underway in Vancouver. The reunion we’ve been secretly manifesting for over a decade is finally here.

True fans of the franchise shouldn’t really be shocked by this news, as there have been a ton of hints throughout the summer. First, Demi surprised fans at the Jonas Brothers’ tour by jumping on stage to perform “This Is Me” with Joe, a duet so nostalgic it sent the entire fandom spiraling. Then, just weeks later, Joe Jonas accidentally let it slip that Camp Rock 3 was in the works (very on brand for Shane Gray, if we’re being honest.) Add in some fan-shot TikToks of the Jo Bros spotted on set, and it was only a matter of time before Disney had to spill the marshmallows on this project.

The details are limited, but Disney delivered with their plot synopsis they gave to the press. Connect 3 loses their opening act for a reunion tour and decides the best way to fix the problem is to return to Camp Rock and discover the “next big thing.” Cue the drama, the rivalries and the friendships put to the test (but most importantly the music that’s about to take over your playlists.) Joe even gave fans a taste from set, dropping his iconic line: “I’m Shane Gray, for crying out loud.”

It’s wild to think that more than 15 years have passed since the first Camp Rock became a Disney Channel cultural reset, breaking records and launching careers. Now? The circle is complete. If you’ve been singing “Too Cool 4 U” at sleepovers since the early 2000s or are about to fall in love with Camp Rock for the first time, this movie promises to deliver all the drama, laughs, and songs we’ve been craving since Final Jam. Grab your canteen, pack your best camp fit, and start practicing your power ballads. Camp is officially back in session!
