Days After Body of Teen Found In Rapper D4vd’s Tesla, A Newly Resurfaced Song Is Raising Disturbing Questions

The death of Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old girl whose body was found earlier this month in the trunk of a Tesla car registered to singer D4vd, has taken another disturbing turn. Investigators are treating the case as a homicide and following multiple leads, but a recently resurfaced demo track and an account from one of Celeste’s former teachers are also shining an even more intense spotlight on the young musician.

Rivas’s body was found by authorities on September 8, 2025, in the trunk of an impounded Tesla in a Los Angeles tow yard. The car had been parked in the Hollywood Hills for weeks before it was towed away, and was registered to D4vd, the real name of which is David Anthony Burke. The performer gained attention for his mix of indie and R&B stylings on TikTok, but has canceled tour dates and is said to be cooperating with investigators. Rivas, from Lake Elsinore, went missing in April 2024, with her mother saying at the time that she was dating a boyfriend called David. The name and time frame has raised eyebrows online, with speculation mounting about whether the artist is involved in any way.

The news is all the more unsettling in light of a 2023 demo song by the name Celeste_Demo unfin. that was recently leaked on SoundCloud and then deleted. The song was apparently a work-in-progress track from the time around when the singer rose to fame, and its lyrics name-dropped a girl named Celeste obsessively. The lyrics, as published by TMZ, were more specifically “Oh, Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest / Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes / I hear her voice each time I take a breath / I’m obsessed.” So far there has been no official connection between the track and Rivas, but the song’s reappearance has left some on edge as she would have been 13 at the time of recording.

Even one of Celeste Rivas’s former teachers has even brought new information to light. He said that she stood out to him as a student who was often absent, and told his current students that Celeste Rivas was first missing from school after having met up with D4vd through social media. Rivas had fled to Hollywood in an apparent act of running away, and was ultimately returned home by police, the teacher said. He also stated that she went missing a second time in May 2024, and that disappearance was the last time he ever saw her. The teacher showed his students an old photo of Rivas in his classroom, which he said was “as a cautionary tale of being social media and where it can lead you.”

So far, the police have neither confirmed nor denied the teacher’s account, but have already unearthed some other details as well. After executing a search warrant at a property in the Hollywood Hills that D4vd had been staying at, they seized computers and electronic devices. The artist’s representatives have said that he is working with authorities, but whatever the truth of the matter, the case has already brought a dark cloud over his once-brightening career.
