Josh Hartnett And Jamie Lee Curtis Reunited On ‘The Bear’ Season 4
"We've got a psychotic serial killer in the family who loves to butcher people on Halloween."
27 Years ago Jamie Lee Curtis and Josh Hartnett played mother and son in Halloween: H20. The requel retconned Laurie Strode as the headmistress of a California boarding school after having faked her death back in Haddonfield. After Michael Myers finds her address through Nurse Marion Chambers, he arrives at the school to cause terror for Laurie and her son.

Halloween: H20 was Josh Hartnett’s first movie role. He filmed concurrently with The Faculty and both came out in 1998 — but H20 was first. Hartnett has said he was worried about accepting the role and doing “Halloween 7” but he gained confidence in the project when Curtis signed on.

Last year, Hartnett surprised fans with a cameo role on the restaurant drama-comedy series The Bear. In season three episode four, he portrayed Frank, the soon-to-be step-dad of Richie’s daughter. Frank is great, everyone likes Frank, but Richie is filled with despair to see someone else live the family life he wishes he had.

It wasn’t lost on horror fans that Hartnett’s old H20 castmate is also a recurring character on The Bear even though the two didn’t appear on screen together. Jamie Lee Curtis plays Donna Berzatto, the troubled mother of Jeremy Allen White’s title character. Her acting on the show has been praised, especially in the chaotic family dinner episode “Fishes” in the show’s second season. Curtis has won a Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series and an Astra TV Award for Best Guest Actress in a Streaming Series, Comedy for her work on The Bear.
This season, Hartnett and Curtis’ characters finally had a scene together. In the show’s newly released fourth season, the sixth episode sees the ensemble cast gather at Tiff and Frank’s wedding. Donna is also in attendance. While their backstory isn’t explained (the complicated relationships of the family and friends in The Bear is a running joke) the two characters greet each other and are shown to be friendly. The greeting is brief and seems like it may have been added exclusively for fan service. For which we say, thank you!
The Bear is streaming on Hulu and Halloween: H20 is currently on Pluto.
