The Twist In M. Night Shyamalan’s Next Movie Can Be Seen In This Trailer

I always get excited about anything M. Night Shyamalan does because The Sixth Sense was a perfect horror movie and that’s not something that gets created by accident or luck. Unbreakable, The Village, The Visit and Signs were so good! I am willing to forgive some misses. We can’t expect The Sixth Sense every time.

Shyamalan’s next movie is Old, a supernatural psychological horror-thriller inspired by a graphic novel he received as a Father’s Day gift from his daughters, Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Levy and Frederik Peeters. The film follows a family on vacation to a secret beach paradise. However, later the family and the few others on the beach are horrified to discover that the beach has cause them (and their children) to age rapidly.

Of the story, Shyamalan said, “Sandcastle truly inspired my film ‘Old’. It is a profound mystery, sci-fi graphic novel that is illustrated so beautifully and with such humanity. Its themes of aging had me thinking about my parents and children and how quickly it all goes by. From the moment I read this I was changed.” Here’s the trailer:

So many possible twists and turns. I can’t wait to see how all the pieces will fit together. Shyamalan fans won’t have to wait long, Old will be in theaters July 23.
