By

All three of these horror movies began streaming in March 2025.

The Rule of Jenny Pen

Geoffrey Rush and John Lithgow star in The Rule of Jenny Pen.

The Rule of Jenny Pen is a nightmarish movie set inside an assisted living facility. A curmudgeonly judge named Stefan is confined to a wheelchair after a stroke, and he quickly learns that the facility he is recuperating in is also home to Dave and his puppet, Jenny Pen. By night, Dave tortures his fellow residents, and he shows a particular interest in Stefan.

The Rule of Jenny Pen is streaming on Shudder and AMC+.

Bloat

Bloat is a screenlife film, which is similar to found footage, but everything the audience sees is from a computer screen. So, movies like Unfriended (2014), Host (2020), etc.

Bloat is about a father, Jack (Ben McKenzie), whose son nearly drowns in a pond while on a trip to Japan. The boy begins exhibiting strange behavior which prompts Jack to investigate via his computer. When the signs point to Jack’s son being possessed by a spirit of Japanese folklore, the worried father must take action before it’s too late.

Bloat is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video for digital rental or purchase. Read my review on Creepy Catalog.

Silent Zone

Silent Zone is a Hungarian zombie-action-horror movie.

A decade into the zombie apocalypse, a soldier and the young woman he rescued from the jaws of the undead work together as they trek across the land. As they try to reach the safety of a colony, their journey becomes even more difficult when they come across people who can’t survive without their help.

Silent Zone is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video as a digital rental.
