Spring is here and so is another fresh round of movies to watch on Netflix. Here are all the best thrillers that will be on the platform in April.
Talk To Me (2023)

For viewers who enjoy: possession stories, A24 horror, emotionally driven supernatural films
Talk to Me was one of the most unnerving horror releases of 2023 and ranked the best horror movie of 2023. It stands out for the way it takes a familiar concept—a group of teens contacting spirits—and turns it into something raw, stylish, and emotionally grounded. The story centers on Mia, a grieving young woman who joins her friends in using an embalmed hand that supposedly opens a door to the spirit world. What starts as a party game quickly spirals into horror when Mia becomes the target of a lingering spirit.
Parasite (2019)

For viewers who enjoy: socially relevant thrillers, South Korean films, Academy Award winners
Parasite is one of the greatest films of the modern era. It’s about a family of four, the Kims, who struggle with low-income jobs. One by one, they each say whatever they need to say in order to get jobs working for the Parks, a family with lots of money and a trusting (i.e. gullible) nature. Parasite is social thriller first, but it also incorporates elements of a darker nature as the Kims learn more about the Parks and their household.
Watcher (2022)

For viewers who enjoy: stalker movies, incredibly tense thrillers, films about serial killers
Watcher was one of the very best thrillers of 2022. It’s so good thanks to a multi-layered performance from scream queen Maika Monroe, and because of the smart and effective direction from Chloe Okuno. The story is about Julia, a woman who moves to Bucharest with her husband. She ends up spending most of her time alone, and she has the feeling she’s being watched by a man in an apartment across from hers. That, combined with the knowledge that a serial killer is active in her area, leads Julia down a dark path of paranoia and ever-present terror.
Don’t Let Go (2019)

For viewers who enjoy: time manipulation, crime thrillers, soft sci-fi
Don’t Let Go blends together a crime thriller, a family drama, and a science fiction film to create an exhilarating movie that works surprisingly well. Jack is a police detective whose niece Ashley is killed in a horrific act of violence. Soon, Jack gets a call… from Ashley. He realizes he’s talking to his niece in the past, and he attempts to use their bizarre phone connection to prevent her death and solve the crime before it happens. Or happened, depending on whose point of view you’re looking from.
The Frozen Ground (2013)

For viewers who enjoy: true crime stories, serial killer thrillers, detective-led investigations
The Frozen Ground is a tense and gritty thriller based on real events. It follows an Alaskan detective as he digs into the case of several missing young women, only to uncover a chilling pattern tied to a long-active serial killer. With the help of one survivor, he sets out on a desperate hunt to stop the killer before he strikes again. Nicolas Cage leads the cast, bringing intensity and urgency to a story that unfolds with real stakes and sharp suspense.
