Today's Shudder releases ask the question: Would you rather watch Brittany Snow in a "survival game" movie, or experience existential dread deep in a dark forest?

Today’s new additions to the Shudder library feature three dread-inducing tales of terror, and one fun game of survival starring scream queen Brittany Snow. All four of these films are streaming today on Shudder as well as AMC+.

Would You Rather (2012)

Would You Rather is a dark spin in the “survival game” genre that feels a little more like an affluent version of Saw rather than something like Squid Game.

Desperate for money to help her sick brother, Iris (Brittany Snow) accepts an invitation to a dinner party. The party’s absurdly rich host, Shepard Lambrick (Jeffery Combs), plans to follow dinner with a game of “Would You Rather.” The winner receives enough money to take care of whatever hardships they’re facing. But as the game begins, the participants learn that losing the game means death.

Sator (2021)

Sator was developed over a six-year period by filmmaker Jordan Graham.

Sator is a nightmarish slow-burn set in a richly atmospheric forest. Adam (Gabriel Nicholson) is a troubled man who is searching for something. Staying at a cabin in the woods with only his dog for company, Adam searches for an entity called Sator which has a dark history with his family.

Sweet, Sweet Lonely Girl (2016)

Sweet, Sweet Lonely Girl is a moody Gothic horror film with a retro, 1970s/80s aesthetic.

Adele (Erin Wilhelmi), a sweet and lonely girl, is sent to care for her reclusive aunt Dora (Susan Kellermann). Dora is agoraphobic and stays hidden in her room at all times. It’s a difficult situation for Adele, but she finds relief in Beth (Quinn Shephard), a vibrant young woman whom Adele quickly grows close to. Beth, however, might not be exactly as she seems.

Without Name (2016)

Without Name is the first feature from director Lorcan Finnegan (Vivarium, Nocebo).

A land surveyor, Eric (Alan McKenna), is sent to inspect a specific area within a forest in Ireland. The spot is connected with local superstition and mysterious tales, and Eric soon sees for himself that the land has a very unusual effect on anyone who treads upon it. Without Name is a slow, dread-filled journey into psychological horror.
