3 Exciting Action Movies On Prime Video To Watch Before ‘Novocaine’ Releases In Theaters This Friday
Each of these movies features people trying to live ordinary lives, but who are thrown into extraordinary situations.

On Friday March 14th, the action-comedy film Novocaine releases in North American theaters. The movie stars Jack Quaid (The Boys, Companion) as Nathan Caine, a man who lives a completely ordinary life except for one rare condition: he can’t feel physical pain.
Just as Nathan is becoming close to Sherry (Amber Midthunder), the woman of his dreams, she is taken hostage during a bank robbery. Despite the obvious danger, Nathan takes it upon himself to rescue his beloved. Along the way his body is burned, beaten, and stabbed repeatedly, but he feels none of it. And that might just give him the advantage he needs.
Novocaine looks incredibly fun, and I can’t wait for it! In my excitement, I scoured Amazon Prime Video to look for a few other action movies with somewhat similar ideas to watch as I wait for this Friday. Here are a few of my favorites, all of which you can watch for free as part of your Prime Video subscription!
Guns Akimbo (2019)
Guns Akimbo stars Daniel Radcliffe as a mild-mannered computer programmer named Miles. In the near future, a criminal organization called Skizm gains popularity by livestreaming fights to the death. Miles gets on Skizm’s bad side, and they force him to participate in a death match by bolting guns to his hands and sending their deadliest killer after him.
Guns Akimbo is the silliest movie in this list. Its stylized action is always over the top, and the dramatic visuals match up well with the idea of turning death battles into “online content.” Also, the movie features Daniel Radcliffe and Samara Weaving in gun fights, which is awesome.
Jolt (2021)
Lindy (Kate Beckinsale) has a rare disorder that causes her to fly into a murderous rage disproportionate to whatever provocation she experiences. She’s been trying to deal with her condition through experimental means, but when someone close to her is killed, Lindy’s fearless anger is just the type of motivation she needs to get the revenge she desires.
Kate Beckinsale is a bonafide action star, and she is fantastic in Jolt. The story is okay, but it’s the action and the charisma of its star that drive the movie forward and keep it entertaining.
The Beekeeper (2024)
If I’m being honest, Jason Statham might be my favorite action star. I’ll watch anything he’s in, regardless of how good or not-good it is, just because I like watching him beat people up (or shoot, or whatever). So it was a nice surprise when The Beekeeper turned out to be a surprisingly good action flick.
The Beekeeper is about Adam Clay, a seemingly normal man who keeps bees. Adam lives on the land of a nice older woman who is sadly scammed by phishers and loses everything (including her life which she takes herself). Adam is actually a highly-skilled yet retired operative from a secret organization that exists in a gray area outside of US government jurisdiction. He uses every skill at his disposal to make everyone involved in the woman’s death pay dearly, even if the trail leads to Washington D.C.
