This is a big week for horror and thriller releases!

Eleven new films came out this week, covering a huge range of subgenres. The two I’m most looking forward to checking out are Borderline (in theaters and on VOD) starring Samara Weaving, and the Indonesian supernatural horror film The Redemption of Sin (on Netflix). But don’t take my word for it. Check out trailer for all eleven movies below, along with links for where to watch!

Opus

Opus released exclusively in theaters on March 14th.

Ariel (Ayo Edebiri) is a journalist who is given the opportunity to write about a notoriously reclusive former pop star, Moretti (John Malkovich). When Ariel arrives at Moretti’s compound, she discovers a bizarre, cult-like atmosphere led by a celebrity who has clearly let the isolation of fame go to his head.

Borderline

Borderline released in select theaters and digitally on March 14th.

Samara Weaving stars in Borderline as Sofia, a pop star whose home is invaded by a delusional fan. The fan plans to marry Sofia as part of his delusion, and he’s brought along his own wedding party.

Control Freak

Control Freak began streaming on Hulu on March 13th.

Kelly Marie Tran stars in Control Freak as Val, a successful self-help guru and motivational speaker. As a major speaking tour is about to get underway, Val has a nagging itch in the back of her head. As it gets worse, she is forced to confront incredibly dark family traumas that she’d hoped to leave behind.

The Parenting

The Parenting began streaming on Max on March 13th.

A couple rents a house for the weekend for a getaway all about introducing their significant other to their respective parents. The house was a bargain, but that’s because it’s haunted. As if family drama wasn’t enough, now they all have to deal with aggressive spirits too.

For Sale By Exorcist

For Sale By Exorcist began streaming on March 11th.

In this low-budget horror comedy, Susan is an exorcist and a real estate agent who exorcises spirits from houses before selling the property. But after years of evicting spirits from their homes, they’ve all come back to haunt her.

The Redemption of Sin

The Redemption of Sin began streaming on Netflix on March 13th.

The Redemption of Sin is another of Netflix’s solidly entertaining horror films from Indonesia. The story is about a mother’s search for her daughter whom the authorities presume is dead. Enlisting the aid of a podcaster, a researcher, and a shaman, the mother must confront dark forces if she hopes to reunite with her child.

Butchers Bluff

Butchers Bluff began streaming on March 11th.

Butchers Bluff hankers back to the bloody and violent slashers of the 1980s. When a group of college students travel to the backwoods town of Emerald Falls, they find out that the local legend of the killer called Hogman is real.

Uncontained

Uncontained began streaming on March 10th.

Set deep in a snow-covered forest, Uncontained is about a drifter who decides to help two children who have been left alone during a pandemic. This movie features a unique twist on the virus-zombie formula that keeps the plot interesting as its central mystery unfolds.

Into the Gravel Pit

Into the Gravel Pit began streaming on March 14th.

Into the Gravel Pit is the story of three friends who decide to have a drug-fueled celebration, but end up with disastrous results. The film features an appearance by Lisa Wilcox, best known to horror fans as Alice from A Nightmare on Elm Street parts 4 and 5.

Candlewood

Candlewood began streaming on March 11th.

A family moves away from the city and into a house far out in the countryside. Unfortunately, the locals aren’t as friendly as they’d hoped, and an urban legend about a spirit haunting the land turns out to be true.

St. Patrick’s Day Massacre

St. Patrick’s Day Massacre began streaming on March 10th.

Two centuries ago, a murderer was killed in a tavern in Dublin, Ireland. In present day, a group of friends stay at the same historic tavern while celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. They thought the tale of a vengeful spirit rising up to kill again inside the tavern was just a fun ghost story, but as night falls, they find themselves in a fight for their lives.
