Mason Gooding co-stars in Heart Eyes, in theaters February 7th.

February is an underrated month for horror movies, but some truly killer horror flicks have historically come out during the month. This year, February’s scary-movie slate is going to be fun, dark, and bloody. Here are three movies you’re not going to want to miss when they hit theaters soon.

Heart Eyes

In theaters February 7, 2025.

Heart Eyes might be the first slasher gem of 2025. The premise involves a masked killer who specifically targets couples on Valentine’s Day, and coworkers Ally and Jay find themselves targeted. Not only does the movie look like a ton of fun, but it stars faces very familiar to horror fans, including Mason Gooding (Scream 57), Olivia Holt (Totally Killer), Jordana Brewster (The Faculty, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), and Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Chucky).

Rounding

Rounding is directed by Alex Thompson (Ghostlight, Saint Frances).

In limited theaters February 14, 2025.

Namir Smallwood (American Rust, 2021–2024) stars in Rounding as James Hayman, a medical student who transfers to a rural hospital after experiencing a traumatic incident during his residency. Hayman has trouble in his new surroundings, and his mental state begins breaking down in disturbing ways when he becomes drawn to a patient with mysterious symptoms. Rounding promises to be a dark and disturbing psychological thriller.

The Monkey

Osgood Perkins (Longlegs) wrote and directed The Monkey based on the Stephen King story of the same title.

In theaters February 21, 2025.

Twin brothers (played by Theo James) thought they’d gotten rid of a toy monkey that kills people. But now, years later, the monkey is back, and it’s killing once again. Now the estranged brothers are forced to come back together to end the monkey’s reign of terror once and for all. Expect lots of dark comedy and lots of bloody violence in The Monkey.
