Over the last few years, the Koreans have quietly pulled ahead of the United States media-wise, in concept and vigor.

The other day I had the delight of seeing a preview in the theaters I hadn’t yet caught at home or online.

Nearly a decade ago, we were introduced to the heavy on action, light on dialogue title that is John Wick. On paper the Wick series reads like any paint by number, straight to video action franchise.

The apex of the digital age has come and gone. It’s clear we’re on the backside now in the chaotic aftermath of an oversaturated market.

Warner Bros. has long felt like the boss’s son of a studio. Its department heads inherited big named properties, have all the money they know what to do with and yet continue confuse us.

Friday, the world lost one of its great talents. With a career spanning nearly three decades, Lance Reddick was a face and voice you’d immediately recognize, and the glue that held many of television’s great shows together.

By audience consensus, the Academy Awards rarely get their major picks correct. There are winners every year of course, but  the Oscars for Best Acting (on any level), Director, and Picture are great examples of design by committee.
