I Promise You That One Day You Will Find Someone Who Will Be So Sure Of You

But I want you to know that it’s okay to trust once more, to let someone in, to choose to see their good intentions.

I know you’ve spent countless of nights feeling frustrated and disappointed after someone lead you to think that you have something special going on with them. I can sense how exhausted you are in participating in everyone’s dating game, only to go home at the end of the day with a broken heart. I can see the fear in your eyes that keeps you from completely opening yourself up again. I can notice by the way you interact with people, who are not close to you, that you’re trying to be careful, trying to put walls and boundaries between you and them.

But I want you to know that it’s okay to trust once more, to let someone in, to choose to see their good intentions.

Not everyone will treat you the way people in your past mistreated you. It’s true that it’s your responsibility to protect yourself and ensure that no one gets to hurt you again, but pushing those who genuinely want to be part of your life will only leave you with an empty heart. You need to allow yourself to have a fresh start and give yourself the permission to fall in love again.

Because I promise you that somewhere in this world, someone is staring at an open space and wondering when they’ll find the right one for them, too. There’s a person out there thinking of you and aching to meet someone like you. The question of when you’ll cross paths with them is yet to be known, but believing that there’s another human being destined to love you can make your journey feel a little less lonely. Knowing that you won’t have to grow old on your own can give you something to hope for.

One day, when the time is right, the universe will put someone in your life who will have most of the qualities that you’re looking for in a romantic partner.

You will be amazed, as you look back, to finally have the answers as to why the relationships you so desperately wanted to have with other people before didn’t work out. You will be overwhelmed by the powerful realization that all beautiful things in life are worth the wait.

When you find the person you can accept and love despite their quirks and physical imperfections, your entire world will somehow calm down. Suddenly, you will become less worried. A huge pressure will be lifted off of your shoulders because you can finally relax and be at peace to know that you have found the love that you’ve been looking for after all these times.

You have come across the person who can give you the joy that nobody has ever given you before.

I want you to keep holding on to the hope that there will be a day in the future when you will have someone in your life who will be willing to let the people in their lives know that you’re the one they’re choosing to settle down with. They will never hesitate to make you their priority. They will be there for you when you need them the most, simply because you are important to them. And if another person tries to break both of you apart, they will never ever doubt to fight for you, to pick you above anything else, to stick to the promises that they implanted in your mind.

Someday, somewhere, you will wake up and see the vulnerable and unfiltered version of your significant other and you will easily, wholeheartedly accept them, even if their hairs are all over the place, even if they haven’t brushed their teeth yet, even if they’re soundly sleeping and their eyes are tightly shut. Someday you will have plenty of dinner dates with the same person and you will never get used of being beside them, never get tired of their laughs, never want to stop watching how they speak, how they express themselves, how they look at you.

I want you to believe that, no matter how many times you’ve been let down by the people you liked before, it’s still possible that you’ll find the love that you deserve.

It’s still possible that you’ll stumble upon someone who will make your heart beat wildly. You will still be able to fall in love with the way someone walk, the way they hold your hands, the way they sneak glances at you when you’re not looking.

I want you to remember that you’re meant to be taken care of. I know you’re capable and strong enough to watch after yourself, but maybe it’s also nice to have someone help you create long-lasting memories with. Because as much as it’s liberating to experience life independently, there will be some times when it will occur to you that you don’t necessarily have to do everything in this world alone. You will yearn for affection and perhaps it won’t hurt to accept it from another person who will be genuinely interested to give it to you.

A day will come when there will be no ache seeping in your heart as you silently watch the sky go from pink to dark blue. You will experience a strange sense of contentment in your life. You will somehow be happy to walk on this earth completely free from sorrows of yesterday. And just when you thought that love is the last thing you need, someone will surprisingly sweep into your world. And, in some ways, it will feel like a beginning of a wonderful story, again.
