I Want To Love You For Who You Are

I want to know the story of your life, every single part of it. I want to know what keeps you awake at night, who broke your heart, and why you get scared to share your ideas sometimes. I’d love to know the one thing that always makes you smile. I’d like to know the proudest moment of your life. I want to know the best places you have visited on earth.

I’m dying to know everything about you — the good and the bad.

Because I want to love you not from what I have heard through people, not from what I have seen in your perfectly filtered photos online, not from what I have read in your curated status, but for who you are.

I want to love the raw, honest, and authentic version of you.

When you speak to me, I want you to talk as if you’re writing your first draft. I want to hear your “umms,” your pauses after an uninterrupted spiel, your hesitations when you’re not sure about which word to use to make your sentence sound better.

I want to love your imperfections. Because they remind me that you’re still a human being inside that goddess physique.

I want to know what’s inside your mind. I’m curious how you’re able to relate your thoughts through arts, and how you make them so beautifully. I want to know your drive to inspire other people, and why it’s important to you.

I want you to tell me all the behind-the-curtain details of the stories you have created for the world to see.

I want to understand the fears, anxieties, and depression you had. I want to know how you survived them. Because I want you to inspire me too. I want you to prove to me that life is worth living, day by day. I want to learn from you that it’s okay not be okay sometimes.

I really want to hear you talk all day and get lost in your words, in your eyes, in your depth, in your passion. I want to get lost in you.

I want to see you smile after you said something funny. I want to find out your quirks, your hobbies, your interests, your favorites. I want to feel the beating of your heart.

I want to love you both on your best and worst day. And I promise not to judge you no matter how many times you let me down, because I know that you always have a way in bringing back my faith in you.

I want to love your honesty because I’m tired of all the lies I have heard from others. I am tired of people pretending to be someone they’re not just to sound or look impressive. I am done playing love games with anyone.

I want you because you’re different, you’re special, and you’re not like them. I don’t want you to completely change for me because I already love you for who you are.

I love you for showing me the inside of you, for not being scared to open up to me, for trusting me with your heart.

And I want you to sweep me off my feet by telling me that you love me too. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
