10 Times It’s Better To Let Go Than Hold On

Thought.is

1. When you’re the only one hurting.

When you’re the only one upset or sad and the other person is out there enjoying their life. It means you cared more and there’s nothing wrong with that but now it’s time to move on.

2. When you’re the only one trying.

Similarly, if you’re the only reaching out, making an effort, trying to meet up, it’s better to let go because it shouldn’t be that much work.

3. When you’re not very attached yet.

If you’re not very attached to them and they start playing games and sending you mixed signals, let them go before you get more attached to them because it’s going to hurt even more down the line.

4. When you see them with someone else.

Even if you’re not sure if it’s serious or casual, their heart is definitely not set on you and they might be going through a phase where they want to have options and date multiple people.

5. When you’re ready but they’re not.

It’s hard to convince someone to be ready for a relationship and it’s a waste of time to wait until they are. Letting go is better for both parties in this situation.

6. When being around them makes you sad.

Whether it’s because you want more or because they’re always disappointing you. It’s not worth the heartache and the pain every single time.

7. When they don’t appreciate you.

Have you been trying so hard to please them and they’re still not giving you the attention you deserve? Are you the only one going out of your way? Ask yourself these questions and if the answer is yes, then it’s better to walk away from a one-sided relationship.

8. When you’re doing the same thing but expecting a different result.

Do you have a type? Are you always trying to fix people? Are you falling for their potential? It’s time to break that toxic pattern and upgrade your life.

9. When you have more questions than answers.

When you keep doubting their intentions, when you keep wondering how they feel about you, when you stay up all night wondering if they’re with someone else, it’s better to take yourself out of this maze and find an easier way to navigate your love life.

10. When you’re the only one holding on.

Simply, are they trying to stop you from moving on or forgetting them? If not, then they obviously don’t care enough to make you stay and probably not even aware of how much they’re hurting you. It’s unfair to you. Let them go and start over. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
