A Reminder For You When You’ve Made So Many Mistakes In Life

Danka & Peter

It’s less heartbreaking if you accept the truth that you’re going to do things the wrong way once in a while. You are going to commit errors or mistakes, even in the things that you’re normally good at because you are not perfect. You have limitations and weaknesses and shortcomings.

You are going to have terrible days in the same way that you are going to have golden days—and that’s okay.

You don’t have to be hard on yourself just because your reality doesn’t live up to your expectations. You don’t have to stress yourself out just because things don’t fall according to your plans.

You don’t have to go home with your shoulders slump just because you feel defeated and frustrated. You don’t have to worry so much about everything that you have no power of controlling.

It’s okay if you get bad remarks from someone else. It’s okay if you commit a major mistake in life. It’s okay if you blurt out a wrong choice of words. It’s okay to lose in a game that you think you’re going to win.

It’s okay to fail, to mess up, and to feel horrible.

You are not here to have it all figured out. You are not here to know everything and master everything.

You are not here to always excel on each task that you do every day. You are not here to prove yourself to others, so you can please them.

You are here for yourself.

You are here to learn so much about life, about the world, about yourself. You are here to grow. You are here to continually change. You are here to find out and chase what’s really important in your heart.

And you have the right to take an ample amount of time to become a better person.

You don’t have to rush and look far ahead of you. You need to focus on your present and know what you need to work on. You have to work hard on improving yourself. But you also deserve to take a break, pause, breathe, and gather yourself.

You deserve to take things easy sometimes.

It’s okay to quit on something that is irreparable already. It’s okay to walk away from people who are bringing you down, and hindering your chance to flourish. It’s okay to leave when there’s no reason for you to stay. It’s okay to step outside and strive to find your safe haven.

It’s okay to give up. It’s okay move on. It’s okay to let go.

Let go of your desire to control everything. Let go of your ambition to be perfect. Let go of your goal to have the world in the palm of your hands. Let go and just relax.

You are meant to learn lessons in the hard way. You are meant to have your heart be broken so you’ll know how to guard it next time. You are meant to improve, to change, to grow, to start over.

It’s okay to fall short of your goals. Because your imperfections remind you that you’re still a human being who’s continually becoming. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
