I Hope You Get Well Soon

I hope you get well soon because it’s hard for me to comprehend that you’re not super human. It’s hard to fathom that you get sick like the rest of us because you’ve always been exceptionally strong and immune to illness.

I hope you get well soon because the world needs you — because I need you.

The world needs people with your kindness and compassion and the world needs people who still know how to love unconditionally without asking for anything in return.

I hope you get well soon because I don’t know it any other way. You’ve always been well and taking care of others. You never asked anyone to take care of you and I know it’s hard for you to feel this way, but trust me when I tell you it’s even harder for everyone around you.

I sometimes question why God allows bad things to happen to good people, the people who don’t deserve these hardships, but then I remember that it’s only those people who can truly handle it, and it’s those people who can inspire the world and be an example for others. Because no one will care if bad things happen to bad people, but it’s the good ones that serve as a wakeup call for those around them.

It’s always the good ones, the brave ones and the strong ones who don’t break when life is trying to break them, and it’s always the good ones who keep the faith no matter what is going on in their lives.

It’s been said that God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers and I have no doubt that you will get through this and you will battle this like you battled all other hardships and you will win.

I wish I had a magic wand to wave your illness away but these are the moments when you understand how small and helpless you really are and all you can do is leave it all up to God’s mercy.

But all I know is that something good will come out of this; a lesson, a blessing, a surprise or maybe just a renewed appreciation for life. You’ve always been super human and maybe God wants you to relax and take it easy or maybe God wants you start taking care of yourself before taking care of others.

I hope you get well soon because there is so much more things we still have to do and so much more things we still have to say and so much more adventures we still have to go on.

I know you will come back stronger than before. This is not the end — it’s only the beginning. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
