This link was a bait and switch and I am not sorry. If you’re a Swift Hater— a cozy Swater, if you will— then you and I have a lot in common. I used to hate Tay Swift, but that swiftly changed with the release of he new album, 1989, and my instant nostalgia for similar music. Taylor’s come into her own with pop, working at a Billy Joel clip to put out hits that are as dance-y as they are anthemic. In this BBC 1 live lounge session, Taylor Swift crushes Vance Joy’s ‘Riptide.’ Even though criticism of her videos, music, and persona can remain valid and important, it’s high time to get swept up in the Swiftide, hater.
