7 Ways To Change Your Life Circumstances
These days, it seems everyone is a self-help guru.
I’m not saying this is a bad thing. Everyone has their own experiences that makes them feel like they can lend a helping hand to someone else, and they should.
It’s great to help someone else who may have been through a similar experience as you. I think it’s great to see so many inspirational people spreading their messages of encouragement and positivity to others through various platforms.
The more voices to spread the positive messages that give help to everyone who needs it, the better.
When you are inspired you have the ability and mindset to be an inspiration. Just the same is the opposite, when you give inspiration you yourself have been inspired to do so. With inspiration brings belief and with belief, anything is possible. With unlimited possibilities brings unlimited ways to change your circumstances.
Anything is Possible
This is the mindset we need to be in. We need to believe that anything is possible, because without that belief, we are going to be stuck in a life full of doubt, negativity, suffering, and depression. Wandering through life, sticking with the same routines, getting angry over the same old things, saying to yourself, “Oh, well. That’s just life.”
I have news for you. That’s not just life. Life isn’t supposed to be something we just “make it through”. Life is about progression and advancement. It’s just as much a journey on the inside as it is outside, and more so. Life is what you make it, so make it an adventure.
What’s the Point?
Life isn’t always easy, especially in today’s society. It doesn’t take much to become distraught. It’s easy to give up. So, what’s the point? That’s the attitude of hundreds of millions of people in today’s world. Life seems to keep getting harder and there is no one doing anything to make it better.
Actually, there is. The people lifting their voices of positive encouragement and inspiration. Those who lend a helping hand and send a message of, “Yes you can”. If you have found this article, you are on the right track. You have taken action in trying to discover a different path.
A path that goes against what is supposed to be “normal”.
As I said earlier, there are many personal development sites and thousands of people spreading messages of how to change your life. Some are being genuine, some are trying to only sell you the magic elixir, and others are being genuine doing what they love, so they can change the world. I would put myself in the latter.
7 Ways to Change Your Life
Having said that, here’s the magic elixir, a quick fix to changing your life’s circumstances. Well, not really, but a few ways that will help you on your way nonetheless. 7 to be exact. Why 7? I don’t know. Could be lucky.
1. Start something new
Take a trip to the unknown, meaning get out of your normal routine and start a new habit or just do something you have always wanted to do. Starting a habit of doing something different or out of the ordinary on a daily or weekly basis, will bring excitement to your life. Bringing variety to your life is a fun way to experience new things. This also gets your creativeness flowing and who knows, it could lead you to discovering something that changes everything.
2. Find and Follow your Passion
Easier said than done I know, but discovering what makes you light up inside and doing things you love to do has unlimited benefits. You will smile more, laugh more, be happier, become more creative, be more positive, rub off on others, and the list goes on… One of the best days of my life, was when I started Unplugged Recreated and knew that I had found my passion in life. By helping others look at life a little differently and bringing some inspiration for change into the world, I am following my dream.
Since that day, I have noticed a difference in my stress levels, attitude, and willingness to listen to others. Doing what you love can change your world. Better yet, doing what you love can change the world. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself. Imagine a world full of people doing what they love.
3. Connect with Others
How you connect with others will be the difference in how you are able to change your life. I don’t know how many times I have said that human connection is the key to everything in life, but it has been a lot. The reason I will continue to express its importance, is because it is true.
How do you approach connection? There are many ways to connect with someone, be it a friendship, partnership, relationship, acquaintance, blah, blah, blah, right? In regards to changing your life, connecting with others who have similar interests as you, share the same passions as you, inspire you, are inspired by you, will all be of benefit.
Studies have shown that the more connections you have, the better you will do in life. Here’s a fictitious but relative example, I am trying to get my message of how connecting with others can change your life. So, I make connections to others who have a bigger audience than I do and they allow me to voice my message through an article on their site. Someone from their site sees my article and happens to be a respected publisher. The publisher likes what they see and offers to give me a contract for my very first book. Bam! A life changed. Of course all examples aren’t this easy, but the formula works.
4. Be Inspired
Inspiration brings motivation and a willingness to change. I don’t know about you, but when I get inspired, I immediately want to take over the world. Well, at least my world. Another reason to be inspired, is because it usually gets you motivated, which helps on days that you might not feel like doing anything. Unfortunately, you will not always feel like doing much. Just be careful, taking a day off can lead to a week, which can lead to a month, which, you get the idea.
I usually start my day with reading an inspiring story or quote that gets me in the mood to make the changes I aim for.
5. Hard Work
That’s right. Hard work is needed if you want to change your life for the better. I’m not talking about manual labor, I’m talking about pure sweat, blood, and tears, with the desire and passion to make the changes you seek, pain stricken sickening hard work is needed. Anyone offering a get rich quick scheme or promises of ultra-fast ways to life change is lying through their wallets. They want your money.
If you want to change your life’s circumstances, you need to put in the effort and do the work. The best changes are those that take a ton of work to accomplish and offer the greatest rewards. I know it sucks that you have to put in the work before seeing any results, but hey, that’s the way it is.
If there is a shortcut to the changes you seek, here’s a secret: it comes with connecting with others.
6. Build your Desire
Your desire is the fuel that feeds you. You can build your desires by using all of the methods above and then you run with it. Keeping the desire alive and strong is the key to bringing about the motivation and drive to accomplishing anything you want. The strength of your desire in what you are passionate about and what you want to change in your life, will be the determining factor on whether you succeed or fail.
Do your best to keep the desire strong so that you don’t give up. Millions of people could have been saved if only they had the desire to do so. Other ways to build your desire include: focus, determination, willingness to fail and get back up, push through obstacles (there will be many), get help from others (by connecting), find inspiration, erase negative thoughts, think positive, surround yourself with people who want the same changes as you and help each other.
7. Take Action!
The time will never be right if you continue to put off that task or objective. No more saying to yourself, “I’d sure like to try that someday.” Let today be the day you start on the path to accomplishing what you want to achieve. So many of us are guilty of making excuses to not following through with something in our lives.
You got to stop. There is something you can do today to move toward your objectives. Whether it is a dream for the future or something you have been wanting to do, start now. What can you do today to take action and start?
Overcoming Failure and Laziness
Two of the most common reasons that stop most of us from making a change in our life. We either give up because we get stuck or we get bored and just plain lazy.
Key points to remember that will help you to overcome these setbacks are to be inspired, keep building your desire, and connecting with others. When you are inspired, your heart gets involved and wants to start taking action. Being inspired will allow you to build the desire to continue on your path. Finally, but the most important is to continually be connecting with others. Human connection is by far the most useful tool to almost everything.
When you make the changes in your life that fill you will hope, inspiration, desire, and passion, you will keep pushing forward. If you keep progressing, you will keep making changes. You will find joy in your life, fulfillment in the journey you are on, and change your life’s circumstances as long as you keep moving forward.
