Six Flags Is Back, Baby! At Least It’s About To Be, Thanks To Travis Kelce And An ‘Activist Group’
You heard me! Six Flags is coming back!
Not that it was ever gone—to be clear, Six Flags is still a functioning theme park. But the competition has gotten grueling, with Disney continuing to cement itself as a household name and Universal finally opening Epic Universe, giving roller coaster fanatics new incentives to keep coming back to their parks. Six Flags, on the other hand, has reported a $319.4 million loss during the first half of 2025.
So how will they fix this? Activist investor Jana Partners, who recently acquired one of the largest ownership of the parks, has a solution: Travis Kelce.
Yes, we’re talking about THE Travis Kelce of football and Taylor Swift fame.
It makes sense that they’d need a big name attached to the project, since both Disney and Universal have an easy appeal to audiences with their crossover into movies and other media. Park goers there are eager to see their favorite movies come to life and to step into their worlds. If Six Flags was ever going to compete, it needed a new, fresh appeal—and Travis Kelce is one of the biggest names in the US right now.
While it’s unclear how big or even what Kelce’s role in all of this will be, he said in a statement, “The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”
