The 6 Best Moments of The Lindsay Lohanaissance
Some people lose it and never get it back.
Others get it back and it’s over before the next Oscars season. Lindsay Lohan, on the other hand, has got it back for good. Just as it was foretold in ancient scriptures, the mythical Lohan has emerged from the ashes of her career, thus fulfilling her destiny of becoming a beloved Hollywood star … again. Despite enduring paparazzi harassment, a substance abuse problem, toxic family drama, and the pressures of her own early success, she has turned her personal and professional life around and delivered a thrilling comeback. With Freakier Friday earning glowing reviews and Lohan’s upcoming Hulu series Count My Lies already attracting buzz, it’s safe to say that the Lindsay Lohanaissance is upon us. Let’s look back at some moments that helped her get here.
Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club

Some cynics scoffed at Lohan when she launched her Business Era and opened two beach resorts in Greece back in the late 2010s. They saw the photo of her messily dancing at that beach club in Mykonos and thought she had relapsed. However, the rest of us merely saw a sober, liberated young woman who had regained her joie de vivre. When she later channeled her newfound joy and ambition into an MTV reality show, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, it proved she wasn’t totally down and out. She wasn’t back in movies just yet, but at least she was making wise decisions again.
“Back to Me”
After reinventing herself as a businesswoman, Lohan’s next big move was to release music for the first time in twelve years. Weeks into the pandemic, she dropped the underrated electropop banger, “Back to Me,” which provided a soundtrack for many lockdown Zoom hangouts. Incidentally, it also framed Lohan’s narrative for the next few years: She had taken some licks, but she was more powerful than ever.
Falling for Christmas

There was a lot riding on Netflix’s holiday film Falling for Christmas. As Lohan’s first role in a major production in over a decade, it could have ended her film comeback before it even began. Thankfully, however, it pulled in gangbusters numbers for Netflix, earning positive reviews for Lohan in the process. The movie itself may have been corny, but it was a genuine joy for many people to see Lohan happily in her element again. Even better, the success of Falling for Christmas inspired Netflix to release two more movies starring Lohan: Irish Wish and Our Little Secret. She finally had a respectable film career again.
Her cameo on “I Like to Watch” with Trixie and Katya

With “Back to Me,” she reestablished her musical bonafides. With Falling for Christmas, she reestablished her acting bonafides. But there was one thing left for Lohan to reinstate: Her status as a gay icon. Thankfully, she addressed this quickly by recording a video message that played during Trixie and Katya’s YouTube recap of Falling for Christmas. Trixie squeed, Katya squeed, we all squeed.
Her 2023 Allure interview
Throughout the early 2020s, there were vague rumblings about what Lohan had been doing since Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, but nothing concrete. Her June 2023 Allure interview filled in some of the blanks. In the profile, Lohan opened up about life in her new home (Dubai!) and went into raptures over her new, upcoming role as a mother. If it wasn’t already clear from that whole successful career relaunch thing, it was apparent now: Lohan was mature, healthy, and happy.
Her return to Mean Girls

A Lindsay Lohan comeback just wouldn’t have felt the same without implementing Mean Girls somehow. So, when Lohan reunited with much of her former cast for a Walmart Black Friday ad campaign in late 2023, the world rejoiced. It was like the former child star had come full circle. She could celebrate her new stability while paying homage to iconic characters that made her a household name. As if that weren’t enough, she even made a cameo appearance in the 2024 Mean Girls remake as a Mathletes moderator. The Circle of Hollywood Life, which moves us all, through despair and hope, through faith and love, had helped her find her place.
