4 Medical Series To Binge Once You Finish ‘The Pitt’
By

The Pitt is one of the best medical dramas I’ve seen in a long time.
It features all of the same drama, fast-paced movement, emotions running high, and the clashing personalities that you’ll get from any other show, but The Pitt does it better. The Pitt is different because the season takes place across just one day. That’s right, each of the 15 episodes take place over the course of one hour of a day shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital. This allows the show to really dig in to what an Emergency Medicine Doctor has to deal with on a daily basis, plus all of the in-between moments that doctors and nurses experience. I, personally, can’t wait for another season to come out. While I wait, I’m going to be brushing up on my TV medical knowledge and these are the four shows I’ll be watching to give me that same feel of The Pitt.
ER

Before Noah Lyle was Dr. Robby, he was med student John Carter on ER. ER is one of the best OG medical dramas to grace our television screens. With 15 seasons, there is no shortage of drama, romance, trauma, and hilarious moments. ER is set in a fictional Chicago emergency room and stars George Clooney and Juliana Marguiles. ER tends to lean more into the drama side of the show, not just with patients, but in the personal lives of the doctors themselves. Stream ER on Hulu and Max.
House

If you’re interested in the wacky, weird, and nearly impossible to figure out cases, you should watch House. Hugh Laurie is Dr. House, a grumpy, short-fused genius who tackles the toughest cases at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. He leads a crew of incredibly talented doctors as they investigate the most obscure cases. You’ll love and hate Dr. House, and will be amazed at how he and his team figure out the impossible. House is streaming on Prime Video, Hulu, and Peacock.
St. Denis Medical

St. Denis Medical is a little more focused on the laughs than the shows previously mentioned here, but it’s still worth checking out. The show takes place at St. Denis Medical in Oregon and follows a group of doctors who are trying their best not to lose it at an underfunded hospital where they have a gaggle of patients to treat. The laughs are aplenty but it also sheds a little bit of a light onto how broken the healthcare system can be. St. Denis Medical is streaming on Peacock.
Chicago Med

Chicago Med is part of the One Chicago universe that features this show, Chicago PD, and Chicago Fire. Chicago Med is similar to ER in the sense that it has a longstanding presence, already through 10 seasons with more on the way. Chicago Med follows Emergency Medicine workers as they deal with impossible situations, patients, and personal dramas in the Chicago area. Chicago Med is streaming on Peacock.
